On Sunday, October 9, 2016, BWL held its 2nd annual community forum on education on the campus of St. Mary’s Academy in Inglewood. The forum was well attended by the community who received information about the application process for private independent and parochial schools. Panelists included representatives from Harvard Westlake, St. Mary’s Academy, Verbum Dei School, Escuela Plus, Girls Academic Leadership Academy (GALA), as well as representatives from the LASUD, who discussed the Magnet Choices process, and provided information about charter school options. BWL extends a special thank you to LA Tutors 123 who donated a complimentary 10 hour K-12 test prep tutoring package for any K-12 standardized test. BWL also extends a sincere appreciation to the experts who spent their afternoon speaking as part of our panel and answering attendees’ questions. A very special thank you goes out to BWL President Amber Finch and the BWL Education and Parent Committees led by Carla Ford and Rashida Adams, respectively, for their tireless work at making
this program a reality.
