On March 30th, BWL joined forces with other local women bar associations for a reception celebrating Women’s History Month at the LA Law Library. There, we were able to mix and mingle with colleagues over appetizers and conversation. U.S. District Court Judge Dolly Gee – the first Chinese-American woman to serve as an Article III federal Judge – was the keynote speaker for the evening, providing a riveting recitation of the history of women lawyers and their efforts to break barriers and shatter glass ceilings. Judge Gee’s historical account included a history lesson on our very own BWL co-founder Hon. Vaino Spencer.
